These Guided Tours will introduce you to the major Protractor concepts in a little more depth. Each tour covers one Protractor topic, and each topic builds on concepts covered in previous topics. Therefore, your first time through, you should consider viewing the tours in the order they are presented.

Introduction to Protractor

This set of tours introduces Protractors software products and on-line services. It also introduces you to the User-Interface for the software. And shows you how to customize Protractor to fit your own unique service business.

Quick Tour (Approximate Tour Time: 14 min.)
This tour provides a quick tour of Protractor’s customer configuration capabilities, work flow management features, work order process, parts and labor guide integration with online ordering features, and an overview of the fully automated marketing system.

User Interface Tour (Approximate Tour Time: 11 min.)
Protractor software was designed to look and feel much like Microsoft Office® and to exchange data with it.  This tour introduces you to Protractor Software's User-Interface.

Introduction to Products and Services (Approximate Tour Time: 7 min.)
This tour introduces Protractors software products and on-line services. It includes an overview of the underlying Internet technology that enables Protractor's Business to Business (B2B) features.

Customizing Protractor Tour (Approximate Tour Time: 17 min.)

This tour introduces you to the ways you may customize Protractor to tweak it perfectly for your own unique service business. Contacts Management Tour Part 1 (Approximate Tour Time: 15 min.)

Inventory Features Tour (Approximate Tour Time: 9 min.)
This tour introduces you to the major features of Protractor's integrated materials and supplies handling. We'll cover the differences between materials and supplies inventory, and show you how inventory control works in Protractor's Enterprise-wide environment.

Inventory Management Tour (Approximate Tour Time: 15 min.)
In this Tour, we continue our look at Protractor's Inventory Management system with a discussion of inventory level management, materials sell pricing, warranty tracking, consignment inventory, and finally, perpetual inventory control.

Purchasing & Receiving (Approximate Tour Time: 10 min.)
In this Tour, we will showcase Protractor's tight integration of the inventory, purchasing and work order systems.

Returned Goods (Approximate Tour Time: 6 min.)
In this Tour, we will discuss Protractor's integrated returns management for both whole items and cores.

Inventory Transfers (Approximate Tour Time: 8 min.)
Here, we will demonstrate Protractor's ability to transfer stock between locations when using the Franchise or Enterprise edition of the software.

 

Workflow Management

This set of tours begin the discussion of Protractor's Workflow Management features with an overview of the workflow process. A detailed look at the Work In Progress Manager, which automate every step in the workflow process, as well as the all important Work Order Editor. Counter sale and for selling wholesale and retail materials without tracking as well as credit slip to process a credit will also be demonstrated.

Counter Sale & Credits (Approximate Tour Time: 9 min.)

This set of tours will begin with Protractor's catalog overview and setup tour to provide an overview of Protractor's seamless integration to parts and labor catalogs. It will also showcase Protractor's seamless integration with Activant's eLaborExpert and ePartExpert catalogs as well as demonstrate the Interchange and Tire Fitment features. There's also many tours on many online ordering protocol that's integrate part of Protractor such as AConneX, IAP, and NAPA ProLink.

Activant Catalog Tour (Approximate Tour Time: 15 min.)
In this tour, we will showcase Protractor's seamless integration with Activant's eLaborExpert and ePartExpert catalogs. It will also demonstrate the Interchange and Tire Fitment features.

Activant Catalog / CAPP Tour (Approximate Tour Time: 15 min.)
In this tour, we will showcase Protractor's seamless integration with Activant's eLaborExpert and ePartExpert catalogs. It will also demonstrate the Tire Fitment, VIN Decoder, Online Ordering and Interchange features.

NAPA (Approximate Tour Time: 9 min.)
This tour demonstrates Protractor's unique integrations to NAPA's ProLink Catalog and Online Ordering System.

Master List (Approximate Tour Time: 10 min.)
In this tour, we will showcase Protractor's seamless integration with Activant's ePartExpert catalog and integrated manufacturer’s price lists. To demonstrate we discuss both mechanical parts and tire searches by size.
